To find out what inner tube size you need to look at the side wall of your tyre where you will find two numbers relating to the wheel diameter and the tyre width. The first in inches is typically between 16 and 29 and the second between 1.25 (thinner) and 2.50 (wider) going beyond 3.00 are considered fat tyres. In the UK they are 2 common types of valves being Schrader (car type/fat) with a 8.5mm rim bore (hole) and the other being Presta Valve (also known as a skinny or chicken valve) with a 6.5mm rim bore.
